1 pkg frozen green beans
1/2 C slivered almonds
1 T butter
Melt butter in small skillet. Add almonds and cook over moderate heat, stirring frequently until nuts are golden brown. Set aside.
Snap the ends of both sides of the beans, leaving a whole bean (may cut in half in the middle of the bean)
In a large deep skillet add 1 1/2 - 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.
Add beans and quickly steam (turning beans frequently) for approximately 4-5 mins.
Drain beans; Place beans in ice water to shock them, and keep their color bright green.
In the same skillet melt butter and add beans.
Cover the skillet and reduce heat to a simmer (turning beans occasionally).
Cook on a low heat for approximately 6-7 minutes. Drain off excess butter.
Add almonds and toss beans. Season to taste with a little salt and pepper.
