Annie’s German Chocolate Cake and Frosting

1 package (4 oz) Baker’s German Sweet Chocolate
½ C boiling water
1 C sugar
1 C butter
4 egg yolks
1 t of vanilla
2 ½ C of self rising flour
1 C of buttermilk
4 egg whites (beaten)

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare bottom of pan with wax paper.
Melt chocolate and let cool
Cream butter, sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg YOLKS one at a time. (Beat well after each addition)
Blend in vanilla and chocolate.
Mix dry ingredients (soda, flour, and salt)
Alternate dry ingredients and buttermilk
Fold in egg whites
Bake for 30-40 minutes. (Watch it)


1 C of evaporated milk (Pet)
1 C of sugar
3 slightly beaten egg yolks
½ C of butter
1 t of vanilla
1 1/3 C of Baker’s Soft Coconut
1 C of chopped pecans

Cook over medium heat until thickens (about 12 minutes)
Remove from heat
Add pecans and coconut
Let cool until thick enough to spread
