Carol's Homemade Applesauce

15 to 20 small apples
1 C of sugar 

Peel and core 15 to 20 small apples. Cut in quarters and put in pan. Almost cover the apples with water. Add 1 C of sugar and bring to a boil then simmer about 10 mins (until tender).Use a potato masher to get the consistency you want. You can taste them when they are cooked and mashed to see if you need to add more sugar! Cool and you are ready to eat!! You can put it in containers and freeze a little for the winter!
