Corn Chowder

This is a chowder recipe that we like. Of course, who doesn't like ANYTHING with bacon in it!

Ingredients:
6 slices bacon, diced
½ C chopped onions
2 C diced peeled potatoes
2 10 oz. packages frozen corn
1 10 oz. can cream-style corn
1 T sugar
1 t Worcestershire sauce
1 t seasoned salt (like Lawry's)
¼ t pepper
1 C water

Directions:
In skillet, brown bacon until crisp. Remove bacon, reserving drippings. Add onions and potatoes to skillet and sauté for 5 minutes. Drain. Combine all ingredients in large pot or crockpot. Mix well. Cover. Cook on Low for 6-7 hours.

Variations:
  1. To make Clam Corn Chowder, drain and add 2 cans minced clams during the last hour of cooking.
  2. Substitute 1 quart home frozen corn for the store-bought frozen and canned corn.
